With its population of 14,000, Port Lincoln is a major commercial centre for the Eyre Peninsula and a popular destination for visitors. It is also a beautiful town overlooking Boston Bay.
Home of Australia's largest commercial fishing fleet, the local economy is based on tuna and sardines, while a growing aquaculture trade produces abalone, mussels and oysters. The port also has huge grain-handling facilities.
There's an airport just north of the city, and excellent bus services.
National parks and conservation areas are within easy reach.
