When Bill Jones invented this bench for his own use in 1986, he had no idea it would grow into such a success. When a friend suggested patenting the design in 2001, Trojan Benches was born!
Retired, Bill built more benches and won a Rural Inventions award with a provisional patent in place. Two years later, he was awarded an Australian Standard patent.
There has been no financial assistance and Bill is the sole trader. Working alone at home, it takes Bill about 3 weeks to make each bench. That’s about 17 to 20 benches a year.
To date Bill has made and sold 300 benches and 1000 roller stands. He has hundreds of names on a client database, should prospective business buyers need them.
Bill is offering his invention and business to the market. Partly due to age and poor health, this idea has the potential to be huge. Bill has received enquiries from a big American steel fabricator wanting to purchase 15 units, and from Thiess John Holland.
Bill believes there’s a big market out there for these benches and would like to give someone the opportunity to take this amazing prospect to the next level.
