Cunnamulla (Post Code: 4490)

While only a small town of around 1500 people, Cunnamulla is the administrative centre of Paroo Shire, and sits at the junction of the Mitchell and Balonne Highways. The main industries here are wool, pig and kangaroo hunting, and hospitality.

Despite its relatively small population Cunnamulla is home to several heritage-listed sites, as well as a magistrates court, public swimming pool, library, showground, racecourse, two museums and a tourist information centre.

Cunnamulla is the starting point for the Matilda Highway, which travels through Outback Queensland, and connects New South Wales to the Gulf country in far north Queensland.
