Established specifically to support a nearby US naval communication station in 1967, Exmouth has grown into a spectacular location in its own right.
Located on the tip of the North West Cape, it sits more than 1200km from Perth, and today counts tourism as its major industry - largely because it's one of the few places in Australia that can claim the real range to reef experience.
Exmouth offers easy access to the famous Ningaloo Reef, the largest fringing reef in Australia and a must-see destination for keen divers and snorkellers.
Ningaloo offers the once-in-a-lifetime holiday experience of swimming with the world's largest fish, the huge but gentle whale shark. Tours operate throughout the whale shark season, from mid-March to late July.
Exmouth has all the services and facilities you would expect, including major shopping, schools, health facilities and more.
