Port Albert (Post Code: 3971)

An idyllic seaside fishing village just east of Wilsons Promontory, Port Albert is steeped in maritime history and attracts visitors from around Australia and overseas.

Fronting Bass Strait, Port Albert is an easy two hour drive from Melbourne via the South Gippsland Highway, and just one hour from the Latrobe Valley towns of Morwell and Traralgon.

This charming little town is particularly favoured by historians, artists, photographers, fishermen, walkers and nature-lovers, especially given its close proximity to Tarra Bulga National Park.

The town hosts a popular fishing competition every March.
